We were founded as Intertonno S.r.l. in 1984, as a continuation of the historic Sardanelli family, whose existence can be traced back to as early as 1817. Francesco Sardanelli, son of Carmine, was in fact one of the founders of a fritta di tonno, an enterprise specifically established to process and market tuna caught in the tuna traps of Pizzo and Bivona. We have always produced and marketed tuna and other seafood products, in tins and jars, following the age-old tradition and craftsmanship of master tuna processors, which we continue to honour and pass on, with a strong focus on the quality and safety of our products.A secret that enables us to bring only the very best to our customers’ tables every day.

The heart of our company is located in the industrial area of Maierato, a small town in the province of Vibo Valentia, where our production plant covers an area of approximately 15,500 square metres, 10,000 of which are covered. Our recently built administrative headquarters is a modern building located close to the production plant, helping us to ensure continuous synergy among all areas of the business.
This is where we manufacture and market Sardanelli-branded products, as well as products made for some of the most prestigious names in the large-scale retail sector. These products are distributed throughout Italy and in several other countries.Around 130 permanent employees are involved in the production and marketing of our products. This work, carried out with passion, has enabled our turnover to grow from 12 billion lire in 1998 to €51 million in 2023.
